Bill Sjostrom

William K. Sjostrom is professor of law at the University of Arizona's James E. Rogers College of Law. He was previously professor of law at Northern Kentucky University's Salmon P. Chase College of Law.

He was previously in private practice as a senior associate with Fredrikson & Byron P.A.; as well as stints as an assistant general counsel with Genmar Holdings Inc. and a floor trader at the Chicago Board Options Exchange with JSS Investments.

He received his J.D. from he University of Notre Dame Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude, and his B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Last month the SEC Advisory Committee on Smaller Public Companies adopted the following three recommendations concerning oft-maligned Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404: 1. Exempt Microcap companies from S404, subject to certain conditions 2. Exempt Smaller Public Companies from the external audit requirement of S404, subject to certain conditions. 3.
