I returned yesterday from travel in Taiwan, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. I’m happy that TOTM is back on line, buttressed by a new and more secure platform. Time to get back to blogging.
First I need to shake off the dust of my travels. I took 1500 pictures, and so am overwhelmed with images which I intend to reflect on. I particularly liked one picture, from Laos, for this blog:
These parts of Asia are changing rapidly. Cambodia, which 30 years ago was almost obliterated by a rabid Maoist regime, is opening a stock exchange. Saigon (or Ho Chi Minh City if you really prefer) is quickly erasing the vestiges of its French colonial past:
Meanwhile, as financial reform proceeds to adoption, I wonder if capitalism is receding in the U.S. At any rate, I can hang some hope on the Court’s impending SOX decision.
Before addressing these issues, I accumulated some thoughts over the last couple of weeks that will be reflected in my next few posts.
