		<description><![CDATA[I read the Epstein article and I thought it was overwrought. I think there is a consensus that the patent office has been too slack in its reviews of software and business methods patents, and the courts too liberal in granting infringement awards. I am not a patent geek, but I thought that the last few SCOTUS cases narrowed those patents and limited the awards. 

I also think that the economic history of patents shows that they often inhibit development more than they encourage it.]]></description>
